Fly to Dallas and transfer to your hotel in downtown Fort Worth, just a very short walk from Sundance Square, for two nights.
Explore the famous Fort Worth Stockyards and enjoy the spectacular Longhorn Cattle Drive before travelling on to Dallas - 50 years after the city shot to worldwide infamy with 1963's JFK assassination - home of the famous Book Depository. This evening, perhaps take a trip over to 'Billy Bob's Texas', a riproarin' Western saloon.
Head north to spend two nights in Oklahoma City, once a popular stopping point on Route 66. Soak up the city's deep western heritage, visit one of the many restaurants and bars in the renovated Bricktown area, and listen to some live country music.
Discover the history of Oklahoma on an included visit to the National Cowboy Museum and Heritage Centre. Enjoy the delightful collection of paintings and sculptures, depicting everything from Native Americans to the Western Frontier and the American Rodeo, before taking a stroll through the city centre's Myriad Gardens and Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory.
Head west towards colourful Amarillo, today. En route, you'll call at Elk City for an included visit to the quirky National Route 66 Museum. 'Travel' through all eight states along 'The Mother Road', and listen to recorded histories and personal accounts of the road.
Continue into New Mexico for a two-night stay in charming Albuquerque on the banks of the Rio Grande. Explore the cosmopolitan city with its 'darned old and historic' Spanish centre and centuries-old adobes that line its lively Old Town district, and sample the local cuisine in one of the hole-in-the-wall taquerias.
Board the cable car for the journey to Sandia Crest for stunning views, before we continue to mesmerising Santa Fe, one of America's oldest cities. Stroll through the New Mexico State capital's charming Downtown district, admire its dramatic Baroque architecture, and visit one of the famous museums and galleries that attract art lovers from all over the world.
Days Eight and Nine
Step back in time, into the days of the real 'Wild West', as you spend two nights in Prescott, Arizona. There'll be plenty of time during your stay to take in the delights of the town, with its 800 historic western buildings and its beautiful setting.
Journey through 'Red Rock Country', with its sandstone buttes and mesas rising from the valley floor - a quintessential western movie landscape - and where the resort town of Sedona exerts its mystical New Age pull, to the edge of the extraordinary Grand Canyon. Spend the night at the South Rim, catching the spectacular sunset.
Rise early for the breathtaking sight of dawn breaking across the Canyon, and take this morning's optional helicopter ride over the chasm, before journeying to Las Vegas for a two-night stay.
Spend today in the intoxicating city and perhaps try your luck along the Strip. Alternatively, join the morning's optional excursion to the mighty Hoover Dam, which holds back the waters of Lake Mead. This evening, view glittering Vegas from the air on the optional Vegas Nights Helicopter Ride.
Head west into the 'Golden State' of California to spend a final two nights in Buena Park, on the southern edge of Los Angeles, passing through coastal ranges and the Mojave Desert's eerie landscape en route.
Join today's included excursion and discover sun-kissed, laid-back San Diego, 'America's Finest City'. Wander through restored Downtown, the Santa Fe Railroad Depot, and the historic Gaslamp District - a buzzing collection of restaurants, bars and boutiques.
Take in the sights of iconic Hollywood this morning before you head to the airport for the overnight flight home.
Arrive back home, after a wonderful holiday.

Passports and visas
British citizens require passports, valid for 90 days after the return date, when travelling to the USA. Visas are not normally required for entry, but visitors must register online with US Immigration at least 72 hours before departure. Full details of how to apply will be sent out about eight weeks before departure. The current visa charge is $16 for British Citizens.
On your flight
All outbound flights depart and arrive on the same day. All return flights leave in the evening and land in the UK the next day. On-board meals will usually include lunch and a snack on outward flights, and dinner and breakfast on flight home. Soft drinks are complimentary, but some airlines will charge for alcoholic drinks.
You are permitted to take one suitcase per person on the aircraft, which should not exceed 23kgs.
Smoking is not permitted on any coach forming part of your holiday, though regular stops will be made for your comfort en route. The majority of hotels in North America are non-smoking throughout, including in all bedrooms. In general smoking outside is acceptable, but do look out for signs prohibiting this close to public entrances or bus stops.
Gratuities are a way of life in North America, and it is generally accepted that they form part of a person's earnings. Customary gratuity to a coach driver or tour manager is about $5 per person per day; in a taxi or a restaurant leave 12-15 per cent of the bill and, in the bar, leave a dollar or so per drink.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair or electric scooter, please let us know as soon as possible so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
